Black Philanthropy Month This Black Philanthropy month, we’re thinking about our love languages and all the ways that we show up for each other. One of our love languages is acts of service. Holistic therapist Medina Colaku, M.A., LAc, tells mbg, "An act of service is about dedicated time and effort, usually in a nonverbal way. It is quite literally showing up in ways that are tangible, meaning actions speak louder than words."
We at Represented Foundation are letting our actions speak louder than words by fundraising this month to help supporting and growing our Service Groups: an online volunteer platform benefitting 30 Black and Brown social entrepreneurs over 10 weeks this Fall 2022. Give the Gift of Service this Month August is Black Philanthropy Month, an annual global celebration of African-descent giving that aims to strengthen African-American and African-descent giving in all its forms. Black Philanthropy isn’t new to us. For centuries, communities of color have been lifting each other up when no one else was. Represented Foundation’s mission is to empower Black and Brown social entrepreneurs so that they can realize the best world possible, help us continue this legacy of support! Matching Gifts To make Service Groups happen Represented Foundation needs to raise $50,000 by August 31 to build out our SaaS community portal and bring on an engagement manager to coordinate volunteers and entrepreneurs. We're excited to announce that our funding partner the Jrue & Lauren Holiday Social Impact Fund will be matching donations up to $10,000 to help us reach our goal! Join us in our mission to inspire, encourage and uplift the future change makers in our community!
