Ashley EllisBorn and raised on the West Side of Chicago, Ashley Ellis is a daughter, life partner, sister, auntie, mentor, and sista friend to many! She has a mission to be a conduit of healing and transformation in the community using restorative practices. She is a Restorative Justice Practitioner, Trainer, Consultant, Master Facilitator, Circle Keeper, Non-traditional Educator and Transformative Coach. Ashley is currently the Founder and Co-Keeper of The B.R.E.A.T.H.E Collective, Inc. and Founder & CEO of B.R.E.A.T.H.E Circles, llc, where she has pioneered New York City based Restorative Justice and Peacemaking Circle Keeper programs and trainings that are accessible for youth, schools, community members and organizations.
Over the last decade, Ashley has served as a visionary leader in multiple roles, implementing organizational and whole school culture shifts towards restorative Justice internally and externally. She has trained over 1000 youth, community members, healers, educators, credible messengers, public health workers, and more across the country, extending to even Nairobi, Kenya! Ashley has attained her Master of Arts in Urban Youth Ministry at New York Theological Seminary in May 2017. Using a womanist integral spirit centered approach and pedagogy, along with restorative justice and circles, she strives to create holistic spaces that communicate a message of Love, Connectedness, Hope, Faith, Restoration and Transformation with the goal of bringing healing not only to youth, but to the community as a whole. B.R.E.A.T.H.E. is a collective of black and brown womyn and girls committed to developing sacred connections and curating sacred space that allows them to BREATHE.
