Represented wishes a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Founder and Executive Director, Noel McKenzie on his acceptance to the Fall 2019 cohort of the American Express’ Leadership Academy!
Launched in 2008 with the Center for Creative Leadership, The AMEX Leadership Academy is designed to equip high potential emerging leaders from the nonprofit sector to become successful executives and help their organizations’ achieve sustainable growth, effective program implementation and overall success. This fall, in commemoration of the Stonewall 50th anniversary and in partnership with the Stonewall Community Foundation, Noel joins 71 other leaders from mission-driven organizations supporting LGBTQ communities for a week of introspective executive coaching, keynote speakers and 360 degree evaluations to becoming a stronger leader.
As a queer man of color, Noel is excited to bring a perspective of intersectionality to the conversation; recognizing that LGBTQ issues impact people of color, differently. Noel looks forward to joining the expansive network of international social leaders, and to bring some great lessons to help Represented. Since launching the program, AMEX has hosted more than 130 Leadership Academies in countries including the U.S., U.K., Canada, India, France, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, Senegal, Germany and Kenya supporting more than 4,300 nonprofit and social sector leaders.
Way to go, Noel!
