Franklyn MenaA Brooklynite born and raised, Franklyn “Frank” Mena’s work ethic and attention to detail in the communities and organizations he's worked with have been key to his continuous project successes.
At the early age of fifteen, Frank began to work with his mother as an assistant at Cruse Realty. After becoming licensed he became the youngest top-producer two years in a row, earning a six-figure income by the time he turned 19. Frank worked as a teaching artist, basketball coach and Athletic Director for the *Coalition for Hispanic Family Services* assisting in jump starting an after school basketball league. Around that time he became the Director of Community Affairs for Mastermind Connect, spearheading the Young Masterminds Initiative , which had two successful conferences working alongside CFHFS. Blessed with many knowledgeable and credible mentors, Frank is now looking to use his knowledge to inspire and support youth and elderly bridge the gap between them, assisting in creating better futures for all. As Co-founder and Executive Director of Universe City NYC, a food port and aquaponic/vertical farm with it's first facility in the East New York/Brownsville area. In response to Covid-19 pandemic to fight back against food insecurity, Universe City NYC has been able to deliver over 2.750,000 pounds of food dispatching from the Eastern Brooklyn Area throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem and the Bronx. In turn, feeding those most in need starting with NYCHA residents, seniors centers, churches, and shelters. Grow Brownsville serves the youth and elderly in East Brooklyn providing urban farming and agri-tech education through STEAM and skills-based learning.
